Congratulations on your decision to study at the University of the Sunshine Coast. You are joining the fastest growing campus in the country. National surveys of student satisfaction consistently place USC in the top quartile of universities across the nation. The University’s achievements in research and community engagement are also attracting national and international recognition.
While we are growing quickly, we are small enough to be personal. At USC, the relationship between staff and students is based on a genuine partnership. You can be confident that if issues arise during your studies, your University has networks in place to help.
Through student representation on key decision making committees, your peers make a very significant input to University governance and management. You are encouraged to nominate for student representative positions so that you can contribute to the USC community as a whole.
There are also opportunities to become engaged in outreach activities as a USC Ambassador, or to assist new students through the mentor and peer advisor programs. It’s a way you can become part of the supportive culture that sets our University apart.
Your studies start in Welcome Week. The orientation activities in Welcome Week give you a chance to familiarise yourself with your faculty and program, meet your teaching staff, and fellow students. You get to know what is where on campus, the support services available to you, and how to engage with student societies and their activities. And Welcome Week is a lot of fun!
I wish you every success with your studies and time at USC.
